Privacy Policy for Wedding Bells

Welcome to Wedding Bells ("we," "our," "us") — an app that helps couples and families plan weddings and track wedding expenses together. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Wedding Bells mobile app.
1. What Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Full name, email address, and phone number (for account setup)
- Manually entered expense and budget data (amounts, categories, notes)
- Wedding details (wedding name, total budget, currency)
- Profile photo and expense receipt photos, if you choose to upload them
Collected automatically:
- A device push-notification token, used to deliver real-time alerts (new expenses, budget warnings, member joins)
- Basic authentication and app-usage data needed to operate the Service
We do NOT collect:
- Bank login information
- Payment card details — all payments are processed by Google Play Billing; we never see your card details
- Sensitive personal identifiers, such as national ID numbers
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Deliver core features like wedding budget tracking, expense splitting, and family collaboration
- Send real-time notifications (new expenses, budget warnings, member joins)
- Provide customer support
- Verify in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Improve app performance and reliability
We do not sell your data or share it with third-party marketers.
3. Sharing Within a Wedding Plan
If you create or join a shared wedding plan, your name and the expenses you add are visible to the other members of that same wedding plan. This sharing is a core part of how the app works, and is limited to members you or another admin have explicitly invited.
4. Your Data, Your Control
You can:
- Edit or delete your expenses at any time
- Export your data (CSV or PDF) from Settings
- Request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, from your Profile tab → Delete Account, or by contacting us below, or using the account deletion page if you no longer have the app installed
5. Data Storage & Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- Stored on Google Firebase's secure cloud infrastructure
- Access is protected by authentication and security rules that restrict each user to their own data, or to the shared wedding plans they belong to
6. Third-Party Services
Wedding Bells uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Cloud Functions)
- Google Play Billing (for in-app purchases and subscriptions)
These providers may process data on our behalf, under their own privacy and security terms.
7. No Ads
Wedding Bells is ad-free and does not use third-party advertising or marketing trackers.
8. Children's Privacy
Wedding Bells is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective Date" at the top. We'll notify users in-app or via email when major changes occur.
